Saint Francis Serves our Neighbors

The Outreach Committee – We allot 10% of our budget to Outreach programs.  Please let us know if you would like to serve on the committee that makes recommendations to the vestry on how we can make an impact in the local, national, and international communities. Currently we support the Edisto Island Community Clinic, Edisto Senior Center, Allen AME Food Bank, Edisto Food Bank, Edisto Youth Recreation, Home Mission Team, Episcopal Relief and Development, Jane Edwards Elementary School, and Home Works of America. If you would like to get involved with any of our outreach endeavors, fill out the contact form below and Betsy Daise will contact you.

Helping Hands – We all have unexpected events in our lives and sometimes need a little help while you figure things out. Our Helping Hands ministry provides meals during these times so you can focus on improving the situation and not have to worry about what you will eat. Jean Murray leads this group. If you feel this is a ministry you would like to be a part of, then let us know through the contact form below, and she’ll reach out.

The Blessing Box – The black and white box in the front of our church is our Blessing Box.  It is a place where those who have some food to give, can give and a place for those who could use some help with food can get some.  If you have a little to give, please consider dropping off some canned goods for others to enjoy.

The Kids’ Blessing Box - This box provides materials for children to help enrich their educational experiences. Supplies include paper, pencils, crayons, scissors, and notebooks. If you have some of these items to share, please drop them off in the red box.

Christmas Giving Tree – We support some of the children who attend Jane Edwards Elementary School by purchasing much needed Christmas gifts each year. What a blessing to be able to help families within our community in such a meaningful way

The Growth Committee – Although named to grow our congregation, we end up spending more time getting to know those in our community by providing free lunches or handing out water at events on the island.  It is a great mission and a fun time. Just take a look at the photographs below with us interacting within our community. Let us know you would like to help, and Carla Cantrell will be in touch!
